Recently, BMIL has arranged and visited some heads of institutions for high level talks on subjects of mutual importance. These meetings aimed to introduce Burundi Management Innovation Lab (BMIL) and its approach to contribute to the work of developing Burundi.
The methodology of establishing bridges between institutions and sectors was hailed by all our hosts with enthusiasm. However, its implementation remained an open question for all.
BMIL held a productive meeting on July 21st 2025. At the International Leadership University (ILU), the visit brought to the attention of the institution the project of co-organizing a Webinar under the theme “Reflections on critical challenges in Burundi: Bridging praxis and theory on monopolies, ethics, and innovation in management”. The VC received the project with great attention and openness to welcome this first and great collaborative work. We then stressed the importance of establishing a formal partnership between ILU and BMIL, which he also welcomed.
These meetings helped build positive developments for BMIL in the development dynamics and ecosystem of Burundi. BMIL has started to draft initial thoughts to be part of the partnership. BMIL pursues the same purpose of tying partnerships with local organizations and companies as well as with public agencies and with regional and international organizations. The upcoming Webinar by Business Ethics Network in Africa (BEN-Africa) is one step toward a wider and more formal partnership with BMIL.
Dr. George Ray, assistant professor of business administration, presented his research at the 63rd Annual Conference of the International Association for Computer Information Systems, and it has been published in two publications.
