Dr. Stephen Kwabena Addoe Hammond is a seasoned banking professional and lecturer. As a seasoned banking officer with over 22 years of experience in leadership roles, Dr. Hammond is currently the Chief Experience Officer (CXO) at GCB Bank, PLC, and facilitates ownership of the customer experience by working with bank executives to drive the achievement of customer relationship and experience goals. He has a proven track record of success in improving operational efficiency, achieving organizational excellence and driving revenue growth. He understands the financial and banking ecosystem, regulatory and operational requirements.

His wealth of expertise is in strategy development and execution, corporate restructuring, corporate governance, risk and compliance management, business process optimization, operations management, project management, change management, and lean six sigma deployment.

As a lecturer, Dr. Hammond supports the Institute of Project Management Professionals, and has delved into the intricacies of project management in Ghana. His research sheds light on both project success and failure, emphasizing that success extends beyond mere adherence to the triple constraints (schedule, budget, and performance goals). Instead, it encompasses the impact on the organization and tangible benefits to end-users. Some common reasons for project failure include lack of user involvement, inadequate planning, incomplete requirements, resource shortages, and incorrect cost estimation.

Dr. Hammond’s dissertation was titled, “An Exploratory Study of Project Management Practices in Ghana: The Local Government Perspective,” and he also recently authored an article titled, “Project Failure and Challenges of Project Management in Ghana.” Dama International Journal of Researchers ISSN: 2343-6743, Scientific Journal Impact Factor: 5.968 & ISI Impact Factor: 1.018, Dama Academia Publisher: Vol 3, Issue 11, November, 2018, Pages 27-31, Available @ DIRJ-11-004.pdf (damaacademia.com).
