Dr. Eric Osei

Senior Lecturer, Business Decisions

Dr. Eric Osei BSc Engineering, MBA, DBA, Senior Fellow Higher Education Academy in UK is currently a Senior Lecturer in Business Decisions at the Harper Adams University. Prior to this, he held several prominent positions within the academic community over 10 years. He contributed to research and commercialisation efforts, actively participated as a member of the ethics committee for PhD/DBA dissertations and special cases and took on the role of Supervisor and Dissertations Coordinator for PG/UG programs. His doctoral research, titled "Risk Management Control Strategies in SMEs," focused on exploring effective risk management approaches for small and medium-sized enterprises.

Currently, he is in the final stages of a Ph.D. at Birmingham City University, investigating SME adaptation and strategy postures in resource-limited contexts. In addition to his academic achievements, Dr. Osei is a Microsoft Certified Professional in database administration and business intelligence. His research interests are diverse and encompass various aspects of strategic management. He specialises in SME Strategies and Posturing, exploring effective approaches for small and medium-sized enterprises. Additionally, his expertise extends to Business Strategy and Policy, Strategic Marketing, and Management Controls.

Some of the published research activities include areas such as strategies of multinational corporations in emerging markets, the fundamental components of a winning governance structure, and critical strategic analysis and leadership of a global company. Furthermore, his work has delved into the challenges and decision-making processes faced by entrepreneurs operating in resource-limited contexts, titled “Surviving with Less: Navigating Entrepreneurial Decision Making in Resource-Limited Contexts.” Dr. Osei has made significant contributions to the academic community and industry.

Notably, he successfully acquired and led a $500,000 funding initiative for the development of a Research and Development Transfer Centre at Kumasi Technical University in Ghana. His contributions extend beyond the classroom, as he has actively engaged in consultancy projects and assisted businesses in developing comprehensive strategies, business plans, and go-to-market strategies.
