Daniel Teage is an Engineering Management graduate student with 18 years of experience in the transportation industry as the Associate Director, Transportation Services, at UMBC.
Daniel is driven by a desire to delve deeper into the intricate nexus of organizational learning and transportation leadership. This academic endeavor supplements his professional zeal and enhances his ability to refine assessments and evaluate analysis methodologies that are vital for steering transportation plans and developing supply chain strategies.
Having survived the Liberian Civil War as a child, and having experienced food shortages firsthand, Daniel’s life was severely impacted, and his perspectives have been profoundly shaped, into a cognitive understanding of the importance of emergency preparedness, incident response planning, and the need to proactively address the possibility of food shortages.
These experiences helped Daniel develop a unique perspective emergency preparedness and fostered resilience and adaptability, both critical to input into transportation plans, which have underscored the critical importance of robust transportation infrastructure and its impact on communities.
Daniel’s passion for sustainability of transportation supply chains during catastrophic events extends to regenerative urban farming, where he cultivates sustainable practices that demonstrate a commitment to environmental stewardship.
Daniel recently started an internship Program at the Federal Transit Administration in Washington D.C., where he will investigate the Impact of Transportation Infrastructure on Communities, Emergency Preparedness and Incident Response Planning, Understanding Financial and Technical Assistance Programs, Safety Oversight, and Compliance and Next-Generation Technology Research.
