Sandy Ntwari is young Burundian, currently pursuing his MBA in Project Management at the International Leadership University of Burundi. He completed his bachelor’s degree in management in 2023 from the same university. Sandy gained important skills in procurement, supply chain, and logistics during his academic internship at the Kaze Green Economy, a Burundi’s a social enterprise that provides an eco-friendly charcoal produced from Corncobs of maize as a clean cooking energy. Currently, Sandy is holding an internship in the Public Diplomacy section at the US Embassy in Bujumbura where he works to develop insightful professional capabilities in international relations and communications. Sandy ambitions to have a profound impact on both the academic and business worlds in Burundi by contributing to addressing issues of youth unemployment through introduction of innovative solutions, boosting youth involvement in agriculture by the means of new technologies. In a country with 65% aged below 25 years, with 90% of Burundians active in subsistence agriculture, reforming and diversifying education to better fit into the dynamic market demands is an urgent necessity. Sandy is passionate about the BMIL’s vision of building mutual awareness and accountability between university and industry as inseparable sectors for embarking Burundi on the UN Sustainable Development Goals and the Vision of 2040 and 2060. I’m keen to join this bold vision and I’m happy to play a part in creating a significant impact and fostering positive change in Burundi.
